DAM United Metadata Editor brings order to large asset inventories

DAM United, the leading international experts for multimedia solutions in the enterprise sector, have added a new solution to their “Simplify your DAM” product family. With the Simplify your DAM applications, companies can increase the usability of their DAM system for specific user groups or application situations.

The new Metadata Editor is a modern, responsive HTML5 tool for viewing, editing and managing metadata. It simplifies the maintenance of metadata for all digital assets. The advantages for users of digital asset management systems:

• Edit asset metadata without accessing the DAM system – from anywhere with any device (web browser)
• Define any number of access rights for individually definable metadata categories
• Easy integration with other modules of the “Simplify your DAM” solution family from DAM United leads to synergies.

A registered user in the DAM system (e.g. CELUM) therefore has the option of inviting external asset suppliers such as photographers, agencies, business partners to view and edit assets – without giving them access to the DAM system. With the appropriate authorization, you can control which data can be edited by whom. They can also use the Metadata Editor to subsequently request specific metadata from internal colleagues (e.g. from the specialist departments). They also do not need authorization for the DAM. The Metadata Editor is connected to the DAM via API and writes corresponding information to the DAM database in a secure and always traceable manner.
