DAMlivery – dynamic image delivery
You too can benefit from the unique delivery platform for images/assets from any (image) data source and a secure asset life cycle!
The leading digital asset management systems are technically mature and functionally powerful. Unfortunately, DAM systems are not very efficient in practice when it comes to regularly providing a large number of images in different formats for webshops (e-commerce systems), but also for portals, websites and the like, the keyword being mass export.
Typical restrictions are:
- The mass export of digital assets is costly, consumes resources and is therefore often only carried out once a day (usually at night)
- If the DAM system is being maintained or is not available for some other reason, shops/websites will not be supplied with images
- The processes around exporting thousands of images in umpteen variations are quite complex
- The asset life cycle is difficult to maintain for exported assets - a centrally deleted asset can continue to exist in many different locations (due to exports)
DAMlivery from DAM United solves these and other limitations. Instead of exporting thousands of digital assets in countless formats and variations from the DAM system to specific destinations, they are available in the DAMlivery server with unique URLs - at any time and in every conceivable format and variation. The perfect alternative to the usual, sluggish mass export.
There are many possible usages, here are some examples:
Image integration via URL on websites, webshops etc.
Delivery of original and/or edited images in various formats to PIM, CMS, etc.
Large number of images must be made available externally (e.g. to retailers for their web stores)
Image integration via URL on websites, webshops etc.
- Embed images via URL directly from DAMlivery to web pages
- No separate upload to CMS or other systems necessary
- Images are provided in the correct size and resolution
- Security of always having the latest images on the website, e.g. for stores or product pages -> the one original image in the DAM is the basis for all modifications, the DAM becomes the single source of truth
- Images that have been recalled in the DAM (e.g. due to copyright violations, license expired) are automatically no longer displayed on the web page
- No problems with color conversions; images are displayed on the website exactly as the original in the DAM system
Delivery of original and/or edited images in various formats to PIM, CMS, etc.
- Delivery of images in different formats and sizes possible. They can be located in an intermediate cache, allowing fast delivery to different channels. For example, PIM often requires several variants for a product image, e.g. for web store and catalog production (print).
- Cropping formats are important for the web experience (banner, small view, large view, smartphone, tablet….). Various (also smart) cropping parameters can be stored in DAMlivery (focus point, cropping values). Delivery of finished processed images to CMS, PIM etc.
- DAM-analog color representation on all channels (no subsequent color space conversion in other systems necessary) – preview in DAM is correct -> then also correct representation in other channels.
Large number of images must be made available externally (e.g. to retailers for their web stores)
- DAMlivery enables mass download from DAM without additional services in predefined formats/sizes/color spaces.
- Image search is based on article numbers, EANs, SKUs etc. with corresponding renaming of images during export, e.g. “articlenumber_front.png”.
- In predefined file formats, e.g. WebP and png/jpg as alternatives
